I will assume there is some explanation on the Network as to why statues insist upon making people vanish. Better yet, perhaps someone would like to respond to this to explain this to me?

They're called Weeping Angels, and they-- live off killing people. The vanishing thing. Pretty much. An' they can only move so long as no one's looking at them.
